HAVE AGAIN: The tacos dorados were very good but the tortillas were overly crispy. Otherwise, very nice and tasty. They occupy what once was Don's Diner.

This is the most incredible place, I personally know Ana and she has always dreamed of owning a restaurant and sharing her food with people. Her food is homemade, and very much made with love. Everyone who works here is so kind and helpful, and all family. The salsas are incredible, homemade, full of flavor. The corn tortillas & beans are amazing!!! The tamales are top notch and the horchata is to die for!!! Any food or item on the menu is super amazing and you can tell is homemade. The prices are great and affordable too which you can't find very many places. Super sweet family restaurant that deserves support!

Wow wow wow. This place was recommended and I had to go try it for myself. I had the torta de asada and it was gigantic. It was perfectly filled so it wasn't messy when trying to eat. The taste was to perfection and it was the best torta I have ever had! My husband got 2 tacos de asada and 2 de apastor. They also were a great size with all the fixings. The meats are full of flavor. Nothing needs to be added to them. My friend ordered the menudo and I had to try since I am a menudo snob and man I was bummed I didn't order it. It was perfect. Nothing needed to be added. Not greasy no funky smell and the tripe was cut into the perfect sizes. You can tell it was made with Love. This is my new go to spot when visiting Woodland.

We came here on Sunday morning 12/12 after a long night of partying. After a long night of drinking the perfect medicine is a giant bowl of menudo. So we came to La Cocina de Ana for just that. It's a sit down restaurant, but they have no sit down menus so you have to order up front. I'd rather sit and peruse the menu before ordering but I wont knock a rating for that. I tried a few things so lets review... Menudo - Not the best I've had at restaurants but very solid. The tripe had a nice chew, wasn't mushy or to chewy it was just right. I also ordered pata on the side which is my favorite part. The broth was very good just needed a tiny bit more salt. The corn tortillas were amazing and filling. The tortillas were very obviously freshly made just by touching them and feeling how pillowy soft they are. The tortillas are mainly the reason they go from 4 star to 5 star. Fresh tortillas soak up so much more broth than an older tortilla. Quesadilla - This was an order for my son, but like always I stole a piece. Nice amount of cheese and meat. Tortilla was nicely grilled and the marinated pork inside was good as well. My only complaint, it was pretty greasy. Tamales - Solid 3.5 chicken tamales. Also an order for my son or otherwise I'd never order chicken. Torta (gigantic) - So we wondered why a torta would cost 11 dollars and then it came. The thing was nearly 2 feet long and six inches wide. It was a sight to behold. Now I didn't get to try this monstrosity but I had to review it on sheer size alone. My gf said it was the best torta she ever tried which I just have to take her word for it. We may come back if we're in the area if only because I lived in the apartments across the street and went to the elementary school right next to that when I was in 5th grade lol. Would love to try some tacos with those freshly made tortillas

Five stars for great homemade tortillas!!! Really good. We went for breakfast on a Sunday and shared chilaquiles and pozole. Both were very very good. Feels like a family business with our waiter being quite young, but providing excellent service. We are keeping them in mind for family gathering takeout food. We will definitely go back.

This place feels like home. It's clean it has good service from good people, and great food. It is a true family business. All the food seems like it clearly has been in the family for a long time. It's great! Our favorite was the Birria, but You are guaranteed quality no matter what you order. I have eaten everywhere in Woodland and Davis area. Yes there are many options for Mexican cuisine in Woodland, but you would be foolish to overlook this place!
